Woman robbed while walking in Cedarhurst

The NCPD reported a woman was robbed while walking in Cedarhurst, Nassau County. It happened on August 6 at 5:30pm. According to detectives, a female victim, 32, was walking westbound on Broadway in the vicinity of Adelberg Lane and was grabbed from behind by an unknown male. The subject grabbed her around the neck, threw her to the ground and demanded money. The victim informed the subject she did not have any and he proceeded to touch her inappropriately. A female witness was driving eastbound on Broadway and pressed her horn which caused the subject to run northbound on Adelberg Lane. Detectives request anyone with information regarding the above incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
Update - Police released sketch of the suspect.


Second update - On August 10, police reports the arrest of Joseph Nadal, 32, of Cedarhurst, in regards to the above listed incident. The defendant Nadal has been charged with Robbery 3rd Degree, Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree and Forcible Touching. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
