Up one jewel from Preakness with Belmont Park is a warm goal for NY

From $350 million to $1 billion now projected to $3 billion.

The NYS needs more and is aiming for $6 billion and maybe $10 billion, that's $10,000 million. Whoa.

Ok Kentucky Derby remains the top spot regardless so how about aiming for second from Preakness for Belmont Stakes.

Today news came out that the winning horse at Kentucky Derby, Sovereignty, will not be at the Preakness but focusing on Belmont Stakes. For the seventh year in a row, there will not be a Triple Crown winner.

Elmont is now eyeing as the second crown jewel with expansion in Belmont Park, Nassau County after the Kentucky Derby, a dream for NY.

A new demand is fans of the Islanders hockey team wanting a museum at the location. With UBS Arena, home of NY Islanders and soon to operate Belmont Stakes once the renovation is complete by September 2026, the location is eyeing more developments with public transportation and housing in the Bellerose, Floral Park, Elmont and Queens Village areas.

Until then Belmont Stakes is held at Saratoga, upstate NY for this year and next year.

The Belmont Park is projected to host over 150 events every year once it's complete. More high end retailers along with the most exclusive chef opening up restaurants, it will be attentive to compare with Kentucky Derby where for standing room only tickets and general admission, the prices start at $366, up more than $100 from the listed price at the end of April. Expect to shell out at least $135,000 for a private suite, with reserved seating going for at least $721, up from last year's prices.

Let's see if Belmont Stakes can beat that.
