Three separate major fires on Long Island

The Nassau County firefighters are at Island Park reporting a heavy fire that started in the basement and extended through. At the same time, the fire spread to the next house damaging both.

This is on Southard Drive near Roosevelt Place when the fire started around 1:45pm this afternoon.

EMS transported the injured to local hospitals.

Around 11:15am this morning, a heavy fire was reported in Long Beach. This was on E Chester Street near Long Beach Blvd when the fire started on the ground floor and extended to the second floor of a home.

Both incidents reported as a second alarm.

As for Suffolk County, around 3:30pm, firefighters reported third alarm at a home in Smithtown. This is in the vicinity of Landing Avenue and near Clark Street. EMS transported the injured to local hospitals.

Firefighters are continuing to work on the scene to determine what caused the fire.

The investigation continues.
