Texas Woman Charged After Smuggling Marijuana into NY Prison using child

On May 24, 2025, a Trooper assigned to SP Poughkeepsie responded to Greenhaven Correctional Facility in the Town of Beekman following a report of a visitor introducing contraband into the facility.

The investigation revealed that Christina C. Miranda, 24, of Weslaco, Texas, had smuggled approximately 63 grams of marijuana into the facility, concealing the contraband on her child’s back.

Miranda was subsequently arrested and charged with:

•    Promoting Prison Contraband in the 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)

•    Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class A Misdemeanor)
