State Police investigate robbery and assault in ausable

On September 12, 2025, at about 8:45 a.m., State Police responded to a reported robbery and assault at a residence on State Route 22 in the town of Ausable.

A male resident of the home reported to Troopers that a male suspect entered the home, struck him with a long gun, and then fled on foot. The victim was transported to Champlain Valley Physicians' Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. State Police are continuing to search for the suspect, who the victim described as a white male, about 5’6” tall, wearing camouflage clothing and a black mask.
