Some of the details of test trace and isolate in NYC released

Currently, the testing in NYC is under 15,000 per day and the mayor reported at least 100,000 is needed for the operation of test, trace and isolate. Also, at least 20,000 staff is needed under this new public health program.
The process of tracers formerly disease detectives will soon operate statewide including NYC. The first task is when someone tested positive will need to disclose who they were in contact with. This includes up to 14 days time which is incubation time for the virus. The tracers will not disclose details of who tested positive. If someone tested positive and can't remember who they came in contact with, then tracers will collect the best they can. Each tested positive must be quarantined for 14 days. The tracers will follow up if they isolate at home. The city will deliver meals to those isolated at home along with medicine if needed. For those disclosed of others outside of NYS, the health dept is working on information sharing between jurisdictions.
The enforcement details are still in the planning stage with both Assembly and Senate. The City Council is also working on this plan.
The city will announce recruitment for this program once the testing goal is reached.
