Road rage out of control in Long Island

Around 1:30pm this afternoon, the SCPD reported road rage involving two separate drivers. The incident started on Sunrise Highway in North Lindenhurst over a dispute. One driver rammed toward the other vehicle resulting to overturn. Then the same driver attacked the vehicle with a sledgehammer while that driver from the overturned vehicle remains trapped inside. Bystanders intervened and called 911. Police arrived and has the driver in custody. EMS transported the other driver to a local hospital.

Police didn't disclose what started the dispute.

The investigation continues.
