Groundbreaking for new housing in Willets Point

The Mayor and the Queens Borough President were in Willets Point today for the ground breaking ceremony of a new affordable housing near the coming soccer stadium in Flushing. The first phase of construction of 880 apartments will start next year. Then another 220 apartments for low income seniors set aside for next year.

This is one of the largest affordable housing projects with over 2,500 units making the area a hub for sports, recreation, shopping, hotels and much more.
