New law coming in September for reckless drivers in NYC

Mayor de Blasio signed the bill aimed at reckless drivers in NYC. The bill will crack down reckless drivers within one year of 5 red light or 15 speed camera violations. This is under pilot program for three years to determine whether it will be feasible or not reviewed by NYC Dept of Transportation each year. The law is to target repeat reckless drivers through a dangerous vehicle abatement program. For the violation, drivers must complete 90 minute free traffic safety course. The city says if an owner cannot prove they were not the one driving under speed camera violations and does not take the course, the vehicle could be impounded until it?s completed. The law will starts in September.
