NYC Mayoral race ballot ranking announced

The NYC Board of Election in a random draw announced the ranking order for the upcoming Democratic primary for the Mayoral election.

This is the order,

Zohran Mamdani - Scott Stringer - Selma Bartholomew - Zellnor Myrie - Adrienne Adams - Andrew Cuomo - Jessica Ramos- Whitney Tilson - Michael Blake - Brad Lander - Paperboy Prince.

Andrew Cuomo's lead is still the same, closing 50% as the front runner. The order is not much of a relevancy since the current Mayor's name was somewhere inside the ranking and won which is listed as Aaron Foldenauer, Dianne Morales, Scott Stringer, Ray McGuire, Maya Wiley, Paperboy Prince, Art Chang, Kathryn Garcia, Eric Adams, Isaac Wright, Shaun Donovan, Andrew Yang, Joycelyn Taylor.

As for the NYC Comptroller's race, this is the ballot ranking,

Mark Levine - Ismael Perez - Justin Brannan - Kevin Parker.

The early voting is from June 14 to 22 and June 24 is the Primary Day.

The winner will face Eric Adams and the Republican winner.

This is how the ranked choice works according to the Board of Elections.

All first-choice votes are counted. If a candidate receives more than 50% of first-choice votes, that candidate wins.

If no candidate earns more than 50% of first-choice votes, then counting will continue in rounds.

At the end of each round, the last-place candidate is eliminated and voters who chose that candidate now have their vote counted for their next choice.

Your vote is counted for your second choice only if your first choice is eliminated. If both your first and second choices are eliminated, your vote is counted for your next choice, and so on.

This process continues until there are two candidates left. The candidate with the most votes wins.
