Menacing incident leads to arrest in Town of Rhinebeck

On July 3, 2025, at approximately 7:13 p.m., Troopers from the New York State Police in Rhinebeck (SP Rhinebeck) responded to a report of a menacing incident on Long Dock Road in the town of Rhinebeck.

An investigation determined that a verbal dispute had occurred between two individuals regarding the use of a chainsaw to cut trees. During the altercation, Joseph Z. Dalu, age 55, of Rhinebeck, allegedly brandished a black handgun and racked the weapon, threatening the complainant.
