Love is coming to downtown Manhattan

The previous Mayor of NYC announced the closing of Rikers in 2017. Now it's 2022 and the first step of love with community jails will start tomorrow in downtown Manhattan.

The first phase of development of construction will start tomorrow early morning with fences all around. The hired crew will show up for work around 6am. Community residents will be out there to protest.

In the meanwhile, the Queens jail at Kew Gardens is under early stage of plans after community protests in 2019 that was delayed until now.

The City Council is moving forth with the $8.3 billion budget for new small jails in all boroughs except Staten Island and then closing Rikers.

Fewer people in jails meaning they will be given programs with brochures to join instead of committing crimes with love and affection from the new City Council. At the same time, non-profits will have more budget for manpower and expenses to operate the programs without results.

The real winners are the developers aiming for Rikers Island to build affordable housing by taking advantage of the politicians who are promoting love and care to the public while raking funds easily to keep it under their party control.

In the meantime, the NYC Mayor will not be available to the public for the next few days after testing positive of the virus today.
