Suffolk County Police arrested a Queens man for fleeing police and reckless driving in Hauppauge

Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct officers responded to a 911 call reporting vehicles racing on Commerce Drive at 3:31 p.m. Michael Beyer was in a 2014 Nissan 370Z Coupe next to a second vehicle preparing to race when officers activated lights and sirens and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Beyer fled, weaving in and out of traffic before stopping on Commerce Drive, near Moreland Road.

Beyer, 26, of Glendale, NY, was charged with Reckless Driving and Unlawful Fleeing an Officer 3rd Degree. The Nissan was impounded and Beyer was released on a Desk Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on April 29. (From SCPD)
