Joint search warrant operation results in two arrests and seizure of crack cocaine

On August 24, 2026, members of the Troop K Community Stabilization Unit (CSU), in conjunction with the Violent Gang Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET), Special Investigations Unit (SIU), and the City of Poughkeepsie Neighborhood Recovery Unit (NRU), conducted a joint search warrant operation at 97 North Bridge Street in the City of Poughkeepsie.

The operation resulted in the arrests of Christopher Talbert, 32, also known as “Wavey,” and Siata L. Mahoney, 32.

 

As a result of the search warrant, investigators seized approximately 234.8 grams of crack cocaine, approximately 43.25 grams of Fentanyl, approximately $2,812 in cash, numerous cellular phones, drug paraphernalia, and a digital scale.

Talbert and Mahoney were arrested and charged with the following offenses:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree — Narcotic Drug, Eight Ounces or More, a class A-I felony

Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree — Intent to Sell, class B felonies

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance — Narcotic Drug, a class B felony

Three counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, class A misdemeanors

Talbert and Mahoney were arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center.
