Glen Oaks neighbors are positive of group homes

Residents living in Glen Oaks on the border of Union Turnpike and 80th Avenue as well as 78th Avenue have reported group homes. One resident confirmed on 256th Street by the library where more than 5 teens are living inside a home. According to NYC Mayor's Office, they are not obligated to disclose such information due to contract with private parties that provide the services. The groups homes are tailored to provide young men or teens with shelter and to focus on education and pursue career in the future. Residents are advised to take the matter with the community board but sources with the city reported as long as there are no violence or crimes within the group, everything remains as the way they are
