Car owners has a new message from senior management at PP

It's not the NYPD's fault.

The top senior administration in the police plaza who obey the political machines from the Mayor, Governor, Assembly, Senate to City Council for fear of losing budget issued a new message to all precincts.

Anything related to a private owner's vehicle is categorized under petit larceny. This includes wheel thefts, airbags and of course, catalytic converters.

At the same time, anyone caught selling aftermarket items from vehicles stolen is a misdemeanor charge and not theft.

All incidents will not be escalated to the investigating units due to loads of paperwork which will need more funding.

The plan was proposed under then Mayor de Blasio who was not a fan of private vehicles ownership and then each local elected official favored the majority to make the change.

While some New Yorkers are upset with the quiet change, some are pleased with bike lanes, subways, public buses and walking.
