Arrest made in Sodus stabbing investigation

On June 27, 2025, the New York State Police at SP Wolcott responded to a report of a stabbing that occurred in the village of Sodus. The victim, a 26-year-old male subject, was transported to the Sodus Fire Department by a private vehicle before being taken by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for further medical treatment.

Following an investigation, Troopers identified Darin Barber Jr., age 21, of Sodus, NY, as the suspect in the stabbing. On June 30, 2025, Barber responded to SP Lyons, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Barber was charged with:

Assault in the First Degree (B Felony)

Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd (D Felony)

Barber was then transported to the Wayne County Jail for CAP arraignment.
