Felony narcotics arrest on the taconic state parkway

On Monday, June 30, 2025, members of the New York State Police Troop K Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) observed a Ford sedan traveling northbound on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Stanford in violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

The driver and sole occupant was identified as Tamar W. Knight, 41, of Niskayuna, NY.

State Police K9 Wild conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics. A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 1,436 grams of cocaine concealed in the trunk.

During the search, Knight attempted to flee on foot but was immediately apprehended and taken into custody without further incident.
