Update man reported missing in Laurens located deceased

The New York State Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in the search for Daniel E. Conklin, age 38.

On August 3, 2026, Daniel Conklin was located deceased in a wooded area off State Highway 205 in the town of Laurens.  He was last seen on July 14, 2026. 

The investigation is continuing, and his cause of death will be determined by a Medical Examiner. 

The New York State Police extend their sincere condolences to Mr. Conklin's family and loved ones during this difficult time.
