Union Turnpike westbound in Glen Oaks to have speed camera

NYC Dept of Transportation confirmed a speed camera will be placed on Union Turnpike westbound between 260 and 259 Streets in Glen Oaks. A time frame has not been announced.

This is across Our Lady of Snows catholic school. A speed camera was positioned there to determine the number of vehicles passing by that were speeding and was recordily greater than expected.

The city is adding more locations around schools and did not disclose them.
