Two juveniles charged in stolen firearm investigation in fine

On March 19, 2026, New York State Police charged a 14-year-old male, of Fine, with Grand Larceny 4th (firearm), Criminal Sale of a Firearm 3rd (sale to an unauthorized person), and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.

Additionally, a 17-year-old male, of Gouverneur, was charged with Criminal Sale of a Firearm 3rd (sale to an unauthorized person) and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.

On March 13, 2026, State Police responded to Spring Street in the town of Fine for a report of a stolen pistol. An investigation determined the 14-year-old male stole a Glock 22 from a local taxidermy shop.

Further investigation revealed the 14-year-old sold the firearm to the 17-year-old male. The 17-year-old later made contact with an unknown individual, in an attempt to dispose of the firearm.

The 14-year-old was arrested and processed at SP Gouverneur and released on a Family Court appearance ticket.

The 17-year-old was arraigned in Family Court and released under the supervision of probation.

This is an ongoing investigation.
