Rescue operation by local hospital in Elmhurst

The NYPD, FDNY, EMS, ESU and other rescue operations are on Broadway near the local Elmhurst Hospital after a woman fell down the subway grate down to 20 feet while walking on the sidewalk. ESU worked to rescue the woman while onlookers also helped with the operation. EMS transported the woman to the hospital next door now in stable condition. The incident was reported around 4pm this afternoon.

The NYC Dept of Transportation is now on the scene working to fix the grate.
