Two basement fires reported in Whitestone and Jamaica

Around 5am, FDNY reported basement fire at 149-10 14th Avenue in Whitestone inside a commercial building. There were no injuries.

Around 10:45am, FDNY reported another basement fire at 179-16 90th Avenue in Jamaica. It was a private two story dwelling.

One person was taken to a local hospital. The cause of fire for both incidents are under investigation.
