Truck carrying propane tanks exploded on the LIE

Police had closed off the LIE westbound at 108th Street reporting a truck carrying propane tanks exploded. It happened after midnight in Corona. This was a result of the truck overturned. The driver suffered minor injuries. By 3am, the expressway was open with 1 lane.

Update -This is from the FDNY, Early this morning, a tractor trailer struck a jersey barrier, located approximately at 97-05 Horace Harding Expressway in Queens, thus causing the vehicle carrying hundreds of propane tanks to overturn and eventually igniting 300 20-pound propane cylinders.
