Troopers arrest woman following assault at kingston motel

On May 23, 2025, at approximately 3:15 p.m., troopers from the New York State Police barracks in Kingston responded to a report of a physical domestic incident at the Kingston Motel, located at 239 Forest Hill Drive in the town of Ulster.

The preliminary investigation determined that Brittany C. Santaliz, age 33, of Kingston, NY, unlawfully entered a motel room and physically assaulted a 12-year-old child, striking the victim multiple times in the face and causing injury. The victim’s parents were able to remove Santaliz from the room and immediately contacted authorities. Emergency Medical Services evaluated the victim, who sustained minor injuries, at the scene.

As a result of the investigation, Santaliz was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

 •              Burglary in the 1st Degree, Class B Felony

   •              Assault in the 3rd Degree, Class A Misdemeanor

   •              Act in a Manner Injurious to a Child Less Than 17, Class A Misdemeanor
