The next outdoor mini mall plan B in Jackson Heights

NYC enforcement can do nothing without a warrant to the new models for vendors whether its legal or illegal. Now many locations in Jackson Heights are opening up private lots to cater to vendors after the Mayor's office removed them from public areas especially on the pedestrian plaza.

From the picture, a long-time home was knocked down on 73rd Street near the pedestrian plaza by Roosevelt Avenue to allow vendors to display items which have stopped work order due to lack of permits. The non-profit that operates the location says a permit has been filed with the city under pending approval once the papers are in order with lawyers. Another location on 75th Street near 37th Avenue is setting up the same model for vendors. If this plan is successful, then don't be surprised by expansion on Roosevelt Avenue vicinity to Corona or Woodside. The local elected officials have offered their full support to this new method of operation which could expand city wide.
