Ten days leave for victims of gun violence in NYC

NYC is all about love and compassion.

The NYC Council introduced a new bill that will give 10 days leave for victims of gun violence in NYC mainly working in the private sector since government jobs are crucial to keep the operation strong. Private companies must compensate for those 10 days while the government won’t. This includes all members of the victims except friends. Private companies do offer this service mainly to the immediate victims of the deceased but not a large group of family members with guarantee.

At the same time, all will be allowed to join programs for counseling and available with vouchers funded by taxpayers.

The bill has a long shot since it can be easily abused by some while others may demand longer than 10 days.

If the Mayor signs the bill if passed, then more victims of crimes from robberies to assault will be added along with more duration from 10 days.

For the year 2025, the Mayor’s office reported 489 victims from 412 shootings in NYC so far.
