Suspect in custody for the homicide in Queens Village

Police arrested Hopeton Prendergast, 64 and charged with murder, manslaughter and weapon possession after report of stabbing in Queens Village.

The incident happened on September 29 inside the basement apartment after argument broke out involving Duwayne Campbell, 23 and Prendergast.

During the argument, Campbell was stabbed and later died at the hospital.

Prendergast was found by police on October 16 in the vicinity after investigation.
