Suspect busted for sex crimes inside Broadway Mall in Hicksville

Te Second Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Woodbury man for Endangering the Welfare of a child that occurred on Monday, January 20, 2019 at 5:20 pm in Hicksville. According to Detectives, defendant Hector Castro, 52, of Woodbury, approached a male juvenile, 7, at the Broadway Mall, 100 Broadway Mall, and grabbed his leg inappropriately. The male victim?s mother confronted Castro after witnessing this occur and he walked away. A short time later, Castro approached a female juvenile, 11, and touched her inappropriately. The defendant fled the scene and was located by responding officers at a nearby location. Officers then placed the defendant under arrest without further incident. Defendant Hector Castro is charged with (2) two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, January 21, 2019 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
