Steel Equities went with two tenants in Hicksville

The former lot of Sears on Broadway in Hicksville across the mall will not be a housing development. The new owner Steel Equities announced two leases to allocate Lincoln Tech and Antech Diagnostics. Seritage Properties, part of Sears filed to build 425 rental units calling it Heritage Village and the plan was on hold during the pandemic. Then Steel Equities took over at $52 million. Under new zoning, retail, medical and other facility use was put in place. Nassau County is on expansion roll with medical facilities.

Locals say Lincoln Tech is a good choice for technical programs for today's job market. This is the second campus after Queens.

The dates have not been announced for the opening but the location is under renovations.
