State police arrest Pennsylvania man for a robbery in the town of wallkill

On August 14, 2025, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) at State Police Middletown announce the arrest of Connor J. Derrick, age 20, of Archbald, Pennsylvania, stemming from a Robbery in the town of Wallkill.

The investigation revealed that on August 14, 2025, at approximately 6:16 a.m., Derrick entered the Sunoco Station located at 2 Ben Gilman Way in the town of Wallkill.  While inside the establishment, Derrick approached the clerk, brandished a firearm, and demanded the money from the register.  Derrick subsequently fled the establishment on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency.  A short time later, Derrick was located and apprehended by Troopers outside of a 2006 GMC in the parking lot of 25 Crystal Run Crossing.  Derrick was also found to be in possession of an illegally possessed assault rifle within the vehicle.

Derrick was arrested for the following:

Robbery 1st Degree, class B felony

Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, class C felony

Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, class A misdemeanor

Menacing 2nd Degree, class A misdemeanor

Derrick was also charged as a Fugitive from Justice due to an outstanding warrant from Pennsylvania.  Derrick was arraigned in the City of Middletown Court and remanded to Orange County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash, $50,000 bond; and remanded with no bail as a Fugitive from Justice.  Derrick is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Wallkill Court on August 20, 2025.
