State Police charge Beekman man following cyber tip investigation

On September 30, 2026, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in Poughkeepsie, with assistance from the Troop K Computer Crime Unit (CCU), announced the arrest of Anderson Merard, 35, of Beekman, New York, following a long-term Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation.

The investigation began in June 2025 after State Police received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). Investigators determined that Merard was in possession of digital images consistent with child sexual exploitation material.

Merard was charged with 11 counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child Less Than 16, a class E felony.

Merard was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Beekman Court on October 22, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
