State Police arrest Vermont man and seize handgun following Hoosick traffic stop

On October 16, 2026, State Police of Brunswick arrested Isaiha R. Hart, 20, of Bennington, VT, for:

Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, a class “C” felony

Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, a class “D” felony

Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd, a class “A” misdemeanor

Driving While Impaired by Drugs and other vehicle and traffic law violations

On October 16, 2026, at about 7:39 a.m. Troopers responded to the area of State Route 7 in Pittstown for an erratic vehicle complaint. While enroute to the location, the vehicle reportedly was traveling eastbound when it entered the opposing lane of travel and struck a camper being hauled by a westbound vehicle. Hart was identified as the driver and became uncooperative during the investigation and sobriety testing. Further investigation discovered and seized an illegally possessed handgun loaded with an illegal high-capacity magazine in Hart’s vehicle.

Hart was arrested.
