State Police arrest Greene County man on charges related to sexual misconduct involving a child

On Monday, August 24, 2026, the New York Police Bureau of Investigation in Catskill announced the arrest of Robert Stockert, age 64, of Hensonville, NY, for inappropriate sexual conduct involving a child.

The investigation began on August 18, 2026, after State Police in Catskill received a report alleging that Stockert had engaged in sexual contact with a child under the age of 11. As a result of the investigation, Stockert was arrested and charged with the following:

Two counts of Rape in the 1st Degree, class B felony

Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the 1st Degree, class B felony

Two counts of Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree, class D felony

Stockert was arraigned in Coxsackie Town Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to appear in Coxsackie Town Court on September 14, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.

The State Police were assisted by the Greene County Child Advocacy Center.
