State Police arrest Amsterdam man for possessing child sexual abuse material

On April 8, 2026, State Police of Fonda, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Amsterdam Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Erick J. Dejesus Rosa, 32, of Amsterdam, NY, for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “D” felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “E” felony.

Dejesus Rosa is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.  His arrest followed an investigation and the execution of a search warrant at his residence in Amsterdam, NY on April 8, 2026. The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Dejesus Rosa was arrested and processed at SP Fonda.
