Six story tower permit filed on Hillside Avenue

The longtime single family on Hillside Avenue will be demolished to make way for six story tower apartments after permits have been filed. This is at 184-12 Hillside Avenue in Jamaica. The building will have 20 apartments with a basement and 10 cars parking garage.

The 2 floor with basement home was built in 1925 along with the rest of homes on Hillside Avenue now making waves for retail store fronts and apartments due to housing demand by public transportation.

The next door, 184-10 was sold in 2014 for $525,000 now worth over a cool million with tower ready permits. More building owners are applying for towers due to zoning changes on busy streets from Hillside Avenue, Jamaica Avenue, Union Turnpike to Northern Blvd.
