Scared and sued TLC now stalled

After the NYC Mayor announced private electric vehicle owners can apply for TLC licenses for apps from Uber to Lyft without restrictions, the NY Taxi Workers Alliance that manages yellow cabs has filed a lawsuit to block it. The court has placed a stop on new applicants filed with NYC Taxi and Limo Commission. November 13 at 9am is the deadline and after that, the case will go to court. This means all applications filed by electric vehicle owners before November 13 at 9am will be processed.

This came after the NYC Mayor announced the Green Ride program that all rideshare app vehicles must be electric. The yellow cab industry in NYC is facing a huge decline and continue to decrease due to private vehicles joining the rideshare apps.
