Rite Aid is now all a memory in NY

Today the CEO sent out a letter to all employees of Rite Aid that it's closing all 178 locations in the entire NY state.

This came after the company filed for bankruptcy protection for the second time in two years.

The plan is to complete by the end of June when termination of jobs starts June 4. Workers will have to find jobs somewhere else.

The brand name will soon be a memory for all after 60 years in business.

A press statement was released with the following,

Company in active discussions with multiple interested potential acquirers; robust sale process supported by $1.94 billion in new financing commitments and facilitated through voluntary chapter 11 proceedings. Stores remain open and operating with focus on uninterrupted pharmacy services and products, including prescriptions and immunizations.

Key priority Is facilitating smooth transfer of customer prescriptions.
