Richfield Springs man arrested after inappropriately touching teen

On July 30, 2026, at approximately 8:17 p.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Douglas Nelson, 61, of Richfield Springs, for two counts of Forcible Touching and Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the 1st degree, both misdemeanors. 

An investigation revealed that while at a residence in Schuyler Lake, Nelson allegedly made sexual remarks and touched the intimate parts of a 17-year-old victim.  Nelson is also accused of trying to provide alcohol to the victim.
