Rest In Peace to a lane on Hillside Avenue

The NYC Dept of Transportation announced new bus lanes colored in red not gold on Hillside Avenue from Springfield Blvd to Queens Blvd where it ends westbound and starts for eastbound Queens Village.

A new camera force is being added to fine drivers for entering the red lane that belongs to the MTA public buses only. The fine is only $50 enforced by MTA bus which are all mounted with cameras.

This is the same fate as once a mighty traffic route, Northern Blvd which is now a nightmare for vehicle drivers in Elmhurst, Jackson Heights to Corona.

The good part is double parking is gone by adding over 500 parking spots from bus stops to new delivery stops.

Next on the plan is bike lanes to satisfy delivery companies that mainly fund the NYC government. This is to meet the growing renters who are the new demographics living in affordable towers around the Jamaica zone.
