Rescue mission continues in Hicksville

The NCPD reported a vehicle crashed into a home in Hicksville. The incident was reported on Saturday around 4:30pm in the vicinity of Bethpage Road west and West Street. Local neighbors hearing the noise came to rescue all involved at the scene.

.EMS reported the driver of the vehicle, a female, 82 years old was unconscious and taken to a local hospital.

The only occupant inside the home, a female, 56 years old was found under the debris. EMS transported her to a local hospital and now back home.

Police say multiple dogs and cats from the homes escaped during the incident and volunteers are working to rescue all pets.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
