Purling man accused of sexual abuse 1st degree

The New York State Police announce the arrest of Alvin Myers, age 57, of Round Top, NY, following an investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse.

On May 26, 2025, members of Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in Catskill, received a report with allegations that Myers engaged in sexual contact with a child less than 13 years of age. As a result of the investigation, Myers was arrested and charged with the following:

Sexual Abuse 1st Degree (Contact with Victim Less Than 13/Defendant 21 Or Older), Class D Felony

Forcible Touching, Class A Misdemeanor

Menacing 2nd Degree, Class A Misdemeanor

Act in Manner Injure Child Less than 17, Class A Misdemeanor

Myers was arraigned at the Catskill Town Court and released on bail.  This investigation is ongoing.
