Protest on the VWE

Police reports over 200 vehicles are aligned as protesters on the Van Wyck Expressway in the Jamaica to Richmond Hill vicinity. The protest is about farmers in India facing new bills allowing companies to buy produce at a cheaper rate fearing loss of businesses and lands in India. Also, the Asian Indians have gathered at the Indian consulate in Manhattan and Times Square to get their voice heard. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes.
