Police shoot kill 79 year old man outside Queens precinct NYPD

Police officers shot and killed a man outside the 111 Precinct in Queens on Tuesday night, according to the NYPD.

The shooting happened just before 7 p.m. along Northern Boulevard and 215th Street in Bayside.

The officer gave verbal commands for the man to put down the firearm, and he did not comply, NYPD Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera said.
