Parole violator busted for multiple grand larcenies in Long Island

The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Manhattan man for Grand Larceny that occurred in South Farmingdale on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 5:45 pm.

According to detectives, a male employee working at the Stop & Shop located at 55 Motor Ave called 911 after he observed a male subject concealing allergy medication. Upon arrival Eight Precinct police observed the subject remove two bags of unpaid items from a shopping cart and exit the south doors passing all points of purchase without any attempt to pay for the items. Eight Precinct police were able to stop the defendant Edward Robinson, 35, of 1 Wards Island and placed him into police custody without incident. Various items in excess of $ 1400.00 were recovered. There were no injuries reported.

Further investigation revealed that the defendant was also responsible for four similar additional incidents that occurred on

January 5, 2020 Stop & Shop located at 8101 Jericho Turnpike Woodbury.

January 6, 2020 Stop & Shop located at 275 Pine Hollow Road, Oyster Bay.

January 7, 2020 Stop & Shop located at 55 Windsor Ave South Farmingdale.

January 14, 2020 Stop & Shop located at 2160 Merrick Mall, Merrick.

Defendant Edward Robinson is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned in First District court in Hempstead on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. Additionally Robinson is wanted on an active NYC Violation of Parole for violating his parole on Kidnapping 1st Degree and Rape 1st Degree. (From NCPD)
