Papers sent and sealed for the casino license

The deadline for the casino license is over and all interested parties submitted to the NY Governor's license for that key to start who will get it.

There were 11 applicants and now a total of 8 submitted before the deadline.

The front runner now is Resorts World NYC after both NYS Senate and Assembly sees the gentrification from the JFK first and then later LGA vicinity. The affordable housing, 2,000 hotel rooms, 7,000 seat entertainment venue, 10 acres of community space and much more are planned if the license goes to the Richmond Hill location.

The other one is Empire Casino in Yonkers and the third one may be CitiField. The first two are in need of expansion from the current operation for players on a regular basis. The players are long timers so their priorities are on top demand into a world class casino facility. The third one will require a lengthy process from permits, zoning to construction which can take years and years leaving the state in limbo without quick income from players.

As of today, Resorts World Casino generates more revenues and taxes each year than any other commercial casinos nationwide.

The state anticipates making decisions by December 1, 2025, with final commission licensure by December 31, 2025.
