Ongoing homicide investigation in South Ozone Park

The NYPD reported a body of a male, 36 was found inside a vehicle in South Ozone Park. The incident was reported on Sunday night around 10pm in the vicinity of 89th Avenue and 122nd Street. The victim's parents told detectives a call came in for a ransom of $10,000 but didn't say who made the call earlier the day. The parents went to the local precinct to report. Police tracked the vehicle about a mile away from the parent's home. The medical examiner transported the body to conduct an autopsy.

Detectives are working on the case including the ransom calls.

The investigation continues.
