One dead one injured after discovery in Suffolk County

The SCPD reported this morning during a routine garbage dumpster pickup discovered two people inside. The pickup started at the local shopping center on Veterans Memorial Highway in Commack back of the Burlington store using a heavy truck to haul the dumpster.

Five miles later to Kings Park for the next pickup at the local middle school, William T. Rogers when someone saw a male inside the garbage truck and alerted police.

The male was removed and transported to a local hospital.

ESU found another male inside already dead and the medical examiner transported to conduct an autopsy.

The local police say the two men are believed to be homeless and were not on alert during the incident.

There were no disruptions to the local school.

The investigation continues.
