One dead after car crash outside the JFK airport

Police reported last night around 3:30am, a single vehicle driver lost control on the Nassau Expressway by Exit 1S resulting in flying in the air to the parking lot. The driver died after the crash causing fire along with other vehicles in the lot at 152nd Avenue and 126th Street. By 5am, firefighters were able to bring the fire on all vehicles under control. The vehicles parked belong to long term travelers.

Police believe the driver was speeding recklessly before the incident.

There were no other injuries.

Ongoing investigation.
