One NYC public school closed due to 2 tested positive

The DOE confirmed there were were 19 staffers in the NYC public schools tested positive for COVID-19 out of approximately 15,000 tested. The UFT reported 22 tested positive. One school in the Bronx closed due to 2 staffers tested positive while 1 in the rest which will not be closed.

The Bronx school, PS 811 will be closed for 24 hours pending setup to quarantine and cleanups. Also, contact and trace will work with those tested positive. The DOE confirmed school will be closed if 2 or more tested positive for 24 hours.

For PPE at school, UFT has a hotline for all staffers to call to get a ticket number. Some schools are already backlogged.
